LITERACY: In Reading Workshop we continued our unit on Reading Superpowers. Students revisited their “pointer power” and made sure that every word, even the longer ones, gets one tap. Students also quickly recognized “snap words” in their books and beyond – we are noticing them everywhere! In Writing Workshop we continued our unit on Labeling and Listing. Students planned their scientific writing across several pages using a pattern, such as “The has/is…”. Ask your students what object they studied and wrote about today!
MATH: This week we continued our unit on 2-D and 3-D Shapes. Students learned to classify 2-D shapes such as triangles, rectangles, hexagons, and circles and began to use positional language such as above, below, beside, in front of, next to, and behind.
